Jordan Mee PhotoThe Chief Education Officer is responsible for the development and delivery of informative programs relating to project management at all scheduled Chapter meetings. The VP of Programs is responsible for soliciting input from Chapter members for program content. The content of these programs is to be consistent and in accordance with the objectives of the Chapter and with majority approval of the Chapter Board of Directors.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Perform and uphold any and all duties as specified by the PMI Wine Country Chapter by-laws, and board policies and procedures
  • Maintain Operations Manual for Chief Education Officer role.
  • Consult and collaborate with the all members of the board to coordinate the needs of the Chapter.
  • Develop and implement succession and transition plan.
  • Coordinate exam preparation resources for members either by hosting classes or brokering information on independent courses.  
  • Coordinate job search resources for members either by hosting face to face, virtual meetings, or self-service on-demand assets.
  • Provide guidance on PDU credit resources for members on the website and responding to coaching requests. 
  • Facilitate access to PDU qualified skill building courses either by hosting live courses or recommending independent resources.
  • Oversee the Professional Development Day (PDD) program content for PDU compliance and assist the PDD leader in setting the theme and finding speakers.
  • Support the establishment of exam study groups and facilitate getting them 
  • Maintain relationships with local colleges and universities that may have project management courses. Provide chapter resources toward educational activities and promote PMI to students and teachers.

  • Consult and collaborate with the all members of the board to coordinate the needs of the Chapter.
  • Develop and implement succession and transition plan.
  • Oversee the continuity and value of the evening program meetings (usually dinner meetings).
  • Design and evolve the general agenda of the meetings.
  • Recruit speakers and other resources for the benefit of attendees.
  • Ensure the quality of presentations by either vetting qualifications, verifying recommendations, and/or previewing and editing novice speaker presentations.
  • Work with VP of Communications to promote the events.  This includes developing copy for website,  email and social media campaigns to promote events.
  • Arrange for thank you gifts with VP of Logistics, and follow-up communications to complete the speaker’s positive experience.
  • Recruit, appoint, and coordinate volunteers to oversee the registration and admissions (usually the Dinner Meeting Manager role).
  • Coordinate with the VP of Logistics to secure venues for the Evening Programs.
  • Survey attendees and the membership at large to discover and refine the content of meetings to attract the greatest attendance.
  • Create, distribute, collect, and post of event surveys.
