Kit Samarakone The Chief Information Officer (CIO) is responsible for the information and communication needs of the Chapter.  The CIO shall keep the records of all business meetings of the Wine Country Chapter and meetings of the Board, and is responsible for the timely dissemination of information both to and from the Chapter membership.  The CIO is also responsible for the marketing needs of the Chapter

 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Perform and uphold any and all duties as specified by the PMI Wine Country Chapter by-laws, and board policies and procedures.
  • Maintain Operations Manual for Chief Information Officer role.
  • Consult and collaborate with the all members of the board to coordinate the needs of the Chapter.
  • Develop and implement succession and transition plan.
  • Accountable for Chapter social networks (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter).
  • Accountable for website content and design management including defect fixes and enhancement requirements with the support of our website provider.
  • Work closely and collaborates with the VPs of Marketing, Programs and Professional Development for promotion of events to Membership.
  • Accountable for the Production and Publication of periodic newsletter.
  • Distribute communications to membership and others at the request of the Board of Directors.
  • Responsible for granting privledges and maintaining passwords for websiteand social media.
  • Manage Communications approved budget.
  • Point of contact for website vendor, maintains relationships to other required accounts.
  • Delegate duties and execution responsibilities, but not accountability, to other members of the management team or others, as appropriate.Perform and uphold any and all duties as specified by the PMI Wine Country Chapter by-laws, and board policies and procedures.

  • Develop and implement marketing campaigns to promote the Chapter and its activites to members and the community at large.
  • Develop and implement a marketing plan in support of the Chapter strategic objective
  • Seek to promote paid advertising for sponsors on Chapter website
  • Promote the project management profession to local organizations
  • Develop an awareness of PMI’s marketing tools and resources
  • Create and maintains defined processes, checklists, and other marketing artifacts to assure consistent and continuously improving publicity and marketing activities
  • Manage community and corporate outreach efforts – increase awareness of PMI and the Chapter.
  • Manage academic liaisons.
  • Manage Marketing approved budget.
  • Maintain master sponsor list.
  • Seek to obtain corporate sponsors as outlined by the marketing matrix and the Board.

Role Specific Skills

  • Online market research skills/proficient use of survey tools
  • Proficient usage of online collaboration/tools (e.g., Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Joomlah, and other Chapter-specific social media outlets)
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Ability to delegate effectively
