Wine Country Wildfire Relief
The Wine Country Chapter area has experienced an extraordinary number of fires in the past few months. Trinity, Mendocino, Lake, Sonoma and Napa counties have been effected, with thousands of structures burned over unimaginable numbers of acres, with countless numbers of residents displaced. To date, the homes of 7 PMI-WCC members were lost. Several members were forced to relocate for up a week and a half, not knowing whether they would have a home to come back to.
While clearly bruised, our region has demonstrated its resiliency, and through that, exhibited a marvelous compassion for those around them who have been affected.
Accordingly, we'd like to highlight a few worthy efforts that we'd appreciate your consideration on. Please read, and if able, contribute time and resources to these worthy causes.
Lastly, despite popular perception that the area has been "wiped out" and not open for business, nothing could be farther from the truth! The Wine Country is very much open for business! Perhaps the best thing that you can do to support these areas is to visit local businesses in these affected areas and support them directly with your purchases in their stores! Local tourism can be one of the greatest gamechangers for the area... Spread the word!
