Project Manager AI User Group Launch & Networking

Project Manager AI User Group Launch & Networking

Join us for a quick, 30-minute collaborative session at Township Sonoma to help launch our new AI User Group, followed immediately by a fun evening of food, music, and networking at the Sonoma Tuesday Night Farmers Market!

Come for the collaboration, stay for the community.

Facilitator: Beth Rivelli (PMI-WCC Board Member). Beth is here to keep us on track and on time! Otherwise, there is no "sage on the stage"—this is a true roundtable session where everyone is invited to co-create this new group.

Event Description

Artificial Intelligence is rapidly transforming how we manage projects, but too often, we are navigating these tools in isolation. It’s time to break down our day-to-day silos and build a community.

Welcome to the launch of the Project Manager AI User Group—a new initiative by the PMI Wine Country Chapter that is open to all project managers in the region, regardless of chapter membership.

This inaugural 30-minute session is a true collaborative clean slate. We won't be sitting through a lecture or a passive tutorial. Instead, we are coming together as peers to design the very framework of how this group will operate going forward. This is an active, collaborative space where everyone's voice matters, and your input will help us decide the logistics, format, and expectations that will make this user group valuable for all of us as we learn from one another.

By the end of this session, we will have established:

  • Our Frequency & Format: Decide how often we meet (monthly, quarterly, etc.) and whether future sessions will be virtual, in-person, or hybrid.
  • Our Collaborative Structure: Determine how we will actively share insights on a regular basis—whether we use a round-table format where everyone brings one or two quick wins/challenges, or an open forum for real-time troubleshooting and sharing.
  • An Expanded Network: Transition from defining our roadmap to casual community-building with local peers outside of our usual organizational walls.

Important Facts to Make This an Enjoyable Evening!

  • Parking: We highly recommend parking on the street near Township Sonoma. We will be walking to the Plaza from there. Parking directly at the Plaza is incredibly difficult on Tuesday evenings due to the market and is not recommended.
  • Shoes: Because we will be walking from Township to Sonoma Plaza (approx. 2.5 blocks) and strolling the market, please wear comfortable walking shoes.
  • Clothing: Even in July, it can get quite chilly in Sonoma once the sun goes down! Please bring a jacket or layers so you stay comfortable into the evening.
  • Food & Beverages: Complimentary beverages will be available during our initial 30-minute session at Township. For the networking portion at the Plaza, feel free to bring your own picnic items, or purchase delicious food and refreshments from the many local food trucks and vendors at the Farmers Market.
  • Seating: The market features live music! Please bring a lawn chair or a picnic blanket so you can sit comfortably on the grass while we network and enjoy the evening together.
