Bites & Insights: Engaging Stakeholders for Project Success
Title: Engaging Stakeholders for Project Success
Presenter: Hannah Lee
Engineers working in public works typically come out of school trained in the waterfall/predictive method of project management but this can set them up to fail. In areas that have already been built out, public sentiments about changes to their environment can throw projects off course dramatically. The need for flexibility and early frequent, diverse stakeholder input is critical for the success of public projects. Even the best technical laid out project plan and “right engineering solution” can fail without proper stakeholder input. We will explore the do’s and don’ts of stakeholder input and management within project planning.
