The presentation uses the Boulder City Overpass as a case study and will include an overview of the horizontal design and construction, procurement methods, quality control and assurance, and project management process. The I-11 Boulder City Bypass project included two contracts with a total cost of $500 million dollars. The review of the two projects will include lessons learned of went well and problems that could have been avoided.
Bio:
Dale has over 30 years of experience in the civil engineering field with a primary focus in structural and bridge engineer. His other areas of expertise will include engineer management and project management. Dale is currently enjoying the retirement life. Previous positions held include Federal Highway Administration – Nevada Division as the Bridge, Construction, Major Projects, Emergency Coordinator. His emergency coordinator position included deployment to Saipan for Super Typhoon Yutu. Upon request of the Federal Highway Administration – California Division, he performed contract work post retirement for Bridge & Tunnel Inspection Metric Review across California.
